KLINGE DONATING GENSET TO HELP HAITIAN ORPHANAGE |
|
|
Following the devastating earthquake that struck Haiti in Jan 2010,
international donors pledged $5.3 billion to help rebuild the country. Six months after the quake, only 9% of the money that
was promised has been delivered.
News reports have indicated that even six months after the quake, it
appears that the horrendous conditions have not changed. Now, the
Haitian government has shifted their priority of cleaning rubble to
protecting inhabitants from the next hurricane season.
Partnering with Astrotech Space Ops, Klinge Corp is
donating a Refrigerated Container System and external Generator Set to
an orphanage in Haiti. The System will
be used to store food and medical supplies. The generator set
will be used to power the refrigeration unit in case of loss of power
during a hurricane or other emergency situations.

Klinge Corp Celebrates the Life of
ITS FOUNDER, Reefer Container Industry
Pioneer, Paul Klinge |
|
It is with great
sadness that we report the death of a pioneer of Danish business. Entrepreneur Paul Klinge
passed away on February 5th, 2010. He leaves us at the age of 88 after more than 65 years of an active
working life, where he served as the leader of a host of
companies. Paul Klinge A/S became an international business
concern with more than 25 companies and 1000 employees
between the years of 1960 and 1990. Klinge A/S took
over the production of York machinery in the US and in 1984
Klinge Corporation was set up in the US as a spin off from
the transport refrigeration equipment department of York
Refrigeration.
Paul's
contributions to Danish business have been recognized by his
receipt of both the Danfoss Prize and King Frederick IX’s
Recognition Prize for meaningful contributions to Danish
export. He also received
a Lifetime Achievement award for services to the reefer
container industry at the Intermodal Transport & Logistics
show in 2004.
Paul will be missed tremendously by a number of
people around the world—in
the container industry and in life—that
he touched with his joy, hospitality and ability to
make friends.
